CBS greenlights gritty reboot of Andy Griffith Show with former star of "The Office" Steve Carell.
Hollywood, CA
CBS has greenlit a new harder and grittier reboot of The Andy Griffith Show, starring former "The Office" star, Steve Carell. Carell signed on to the project in January.
The show is set to focus more on the crime taking place in the fictional town of Mayberry than the original, including murder, gambling and organized crime.
Steve Buscemi fresh off his turn on Boardwalk Empire will take the role of Taylor's deputy "Barney Fife".

Some things just shouldn't be mess with. This is one of those things.
ReplyDeleteNo! No! No!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, murder, organised crime? No one wants a Mayberry that's just like the real world. Whoever decided to do this show has NO CLUE.
ReplyDeleteNeeds to be LEFT ALONE! PLEASE DO NOT DO IT!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stupid premise. Leave good wholesome family TV alone holly weird
ReplyDeleteThen they are going to make a reboot of Dennis the Menace starring Jack Nicholson as his dog Spot and Leave it to Beaver with Beaver figuring out that Wally is a serial killer.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's a comedy and not serious. We have enough cop shows.
ReplyDeleteMy grandma says she won't watch it because of different actors playing the characters than what was on the original. I told her it can't be helped cause Andy died, but she still refuses to watch this reboot if it's made.
